LAVONIA, GA – David McCoy has spent more time in Victory Lane this year than just about any other Limited Late Model competitor in Northeast Georgia.

That’s just where he was again Saturday night, as McCoy added another trophy to his already full trophy case with a win at Lavonia Speedway in Lavonia, GA.

McCoy outdistanced Mike Ashley for the victory, with Ted Crunkleton coming home in third, Barry Lear in fourth and Clayton Turner in fifth.

While he won in the Limited Late Models, McCoy came up one position short of a Late Model sweep when Steve “Hot Rod” LaMance beat him to the checkered flag for the FASTRAK Pro Late Model feature victory. Adam Smith crossed the finish line in third, with Kyre Mullaney in fourth and Danny Sanders in fifth.

In other action, Mark Wilbanks topped the field to score the Modified Street win. Billy Buffington finished in second, with Otis Murray in third, Greg Dodgens in fourth and Jonathan Harris in fifth.

Mitchell Godfrey picked up the victory in the Stock 4 feature. Kenny Dobbs came home in second, with Bobby Boshears in third, Bo Rutherford in fourth and Brandon Stroud in fifth.

Rusty King was the winner in the Hobby Stock feature, with Mike Davidson, Matthew Bryant, Alex Yarborough and Danny Murray in fifth.

Brandon Elliott took the win in the Rookie 4 feature. Dolton Cochran finished in second, followed by Matthew Ferguson in third and Joseph “Boo Man” Galloway in fourth.

In the Front Wheel Drive feature, Lucas Crowe crossed the finish line first for the win, with Jackie Holden in second, Chris Harvell in third, Daniel Reynolds in fourth and Lucas Grant.

Lavonia Speedway will be idle this weekend in support of other local track’s special events. The track will return to action on Sept. 6 with double points in all classes to determine the 2014 champions.
