Adam Beeler Scores Third NeSmith Chevy WRS Win At 411

CARTERSVILLE, GA – Adam Beeler of Knoxville, TN remains a NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series $10,000 title contender after picking up his third win of the season on Saturday night at 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, TN in the Jack Henderson Memorial Race driving the Mighty Muffler and Brakes CVR.

There was a major shuffling of the deck among the Top 20 drivers in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series point standings in Week 15 competition, as many new name found a spot in the battle for the 2014 $10,000 Championship. The top four drivers in the point standings have now reached the 14-week mark and will begin to net points.

NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series point leader Adam Gauldin of Talladega, AL took Week 15 off from competition, but he still remains on the top of the list with a 14-week total of 645 points. When Gauldin returns to competition, he will be trying to net on a 25, which is the lowest total of his 14 weekly point totals in the Adam Gauldin Racing GRT.

Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS reached the 14 week mark of his season by driving the Billy Riels Racing GRT to a fourth-place finish on Saturday night at St. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, LA to move him up to the second spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings. Lee has 639 points, and he will be trying to net on a 25 in his next series outing.

Cruz Skinner of Oxford, AL is third in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 637 points. The 12-year-old driver ventured to 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, TN where he finished seventh in the Skinner Body Shop Special and net three points on his 14 week total. Skinner will now try to net on another 41.

Doug Sanchagrin of Florence, MS finished outside the top ten on Friday night at Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS and on Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS driving the Permanent Exterior Solutions Trak-Star. Sanchagrin added 41 points in his 14th week of NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series competition and is fourth in the standings with 587 points. Sanchagrin will now be trying to net on a 25.

The drivers that are fifth through tenth in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series point standings still have anywhere from two to three more weeks to earn full points before hitting the 14 week mark of their respective seasons. These will be the drivers to watch in the next couple of weeks, as they try to make a move towards the top of the points list.

Daniel Bridgmon of Meridian, MS is fifth in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 571 points and two more weeks to earn full points. Bridgmon finished third on Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park driving the Robinson Electric Supply Special.

The defending NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series National Champion Noah Daspit of Kiln, MS is sixth in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 566 points and two more weeks to earn full points. Daspit finished ninth on Friday night at Jackson Motor Speedway in the Billy Riels Racing Trak-Star.

Mike Combs of Odenville, AL did not compete in NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 15 competition and dropped to seventh in the standings with 539 points. Combs has two more weeks to earn full points driving the Pro Grafx Special.

Heath Minor of Ralph, AL has established himself as a NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series title contender. Minor is eighth in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 528 points and three more weeks to earn full points in the Mike Minor’s Auto Repair Warrior. Minor did not compete in Week 15 action.

Justin Angle of Anniston, AL is ninth in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 508 and two more weeks to earn full points driving the J&S Racing Rocket. Angle did not race in Week 15 competition.

Sid Scarbrough of Florence, MS rounds out the top ten in the standings with 500 points and two more weeks to earn full points. Scarbrough finished outside the top ten on Friday night at Jackson Motor Speedway, but still earned 41 points in the Villa South Trak-Star.

Chandler Petty of Austin, AR opened NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 15 action with his fifth win of the season on Thursday night at Batesville Motor Speedway in Batesville, AR driving the Whistle Stop Barbeque Rocket.

Cliff Williams of Star, MS moved up to the 13th spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series point standings with his first win of the season on Friday night at Jackson Motor Speedway driving the Cliff Williams Plumbing Trak-Star. Darrick Klima of Belleville, KS took his third win of the season on Friday night at Salina Speedway in Salina, KS driving the Mike’s Body Shop Special.

Ashley Newman of Ripley, TN had a successful July 4th Holiday weekend of racing at Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS. Newman drove the Greg’s Sawmill Special to a win on Friday night in the Week 14 Make-Up Race, and again on Saturday night in the Week 15 Race. Newman’s seventh and eighth wins of the season vaulted him into the Top 20 of the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series point standings.

Doug Begnaud of Cypress, TX drove the Bolted Steel Tank Service Special to his first win of the season on Saturday night at Battleground Speedway in Highlands, TX. NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Championship hopeful Chris Holley of Dayton, TX finished second. It was only the second time in nine races that Holley had been defeated this season at Battleground Speedway.

Ronnie Cooper of McKenzie, TN claimed his third win of the 2014 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series season on Saturday night at Clayhill Motorsports in Atwood, TN in the Ronnie Cooper Trucking Rocket. Bryan Foy of Lacombe, LA picked up his first win of the season on Saturday night at St. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, AL driving the B&K Contracting Trak-Star.

Nick Thrash of Meridian, MS drove the McDevitt Enterprises GRT to his second NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Late Model win of the season on Saturday night in the I-20 Challenge Series Race at Whynot Motorsports Park.

Three-time and defending NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufacturers Challenge Champion Trak-Star Race Cars built by Boland Performance of Cuba, AL added two more victories from Williams and Foy to bring their leading win total to 21.

Four-time NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Chassis Champ GRT Race Cars of Greenbrier, AR and Rocket Chassis of Shinnston, WV are tied for second in the Manufacturers Challenge standings after Thrash gave GRT their 16th win of the season, while Petty and Cooper brought Rocket’s win season win total to 16.

Warrior Race Car built by Goddard Performance of Knoxville, TN is fourth in the standings with six wins. CVR Race Cars of Lenoir City, TN is fifth after Beeler gave them their fourth win of the season. TNT Race Cars of Piney Flats, TN is also participating in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufacturers Challenge and is still looking for their first win of the season.
