Bridges, Moss Score USCS Sprint Car Weekend Wins

The USCS Outlaw Thunder Sprint Car tour saw a pair of winners over the weekend as Johnny Bridges won at Carolina Speedway in Gastonia, NC Friday night, while Lance Moss won in Saturday night at Lancaster Speedway in Lancaster, SC.

On Friday, Johnny Bridges from Cherryville, NC scored the win at Carolina Speedway. Bridges who started fifth in the USCS vs. URC North vs. South challenge event passed early race leader Lance Moss on lap 18 after a restart and led the final seven laps of the 25 lap contest.

Moss started from the K&N Filters Pole Position and raced home in the runner-up spot followed by Terry Gray in third place. Robbie Stillwaggon finished in fourth place and the evening’s Hoosier Speed Dash winner Morgan Turpen rounded out the top five drivers.

Terry Witherspoon led the next group of drivers in sixth place. USCS sprint car Rookie of the Year contender, Jay Dunham from Augusta, GA followed in seventh place. Bob Auld finished in eighth place followed by Jason Troutman in ninth position and Tim Perry in 10th.

On Saturday night, Lance Moss from Cherryville, North Carolina raced to his career-first sprint car feature win at Lancaster Speedway. Moss then had an emotional victory lane celebration thanking all involved in making his win possible. Johnny Bridges followed Moss in the runner-up spot.

Stillwaggon finished in third place, with Troy Betts in fourth. Betts far and away bested his sixteenth place finish on Friday night when he flipped while running in second place. Morgan Turpen completed the top five finishing drivers.

Terry Gray, Eric Riggins, Jr., Terry Witherspoon, Brandon McLain and Brad Franks rounded out the top ten.

In other action, Rick Goss from Charlotte, North Carolina both events for the USCS 600 Mini-Sprints with a win on both Friday at Carolina Speedway in Gastonia, NC night and Saturday night at East Lincoln Speedway in Stanley, NC.

The next event for the USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour winged sprint cars will be a paved track contest on Friday, April 25 at Anderson Motor Speedway in Williamston, SC. For more info, visit uscsracing.com.
