Chancy Wins Outlaw Late Model Opener At ‘The Melon’

Billy Chancy opened up the Outlaw Late Model season at Watermelon Capital Speedway in Cordele, GA Saturday night with a trip to victory lane.

Chancy topped the OLM field to score the season opening victory at “The Melon”, the second straight year he has won the popular division’s opening event.

Chancy beat out Stuart Dutton for the win at the 3/8 mile.  David Murphy crossed the line in third, with Warren Mobley in fourth, and Brian Hardman in fifth.

Steve Barker, Kyle McCallum, Sammy Short, Stewart Smith, and Jordan McCallum rounded out the top ten.

In other action, Cody Hale returned to his winning ways early as well, as he swept both the Enduro and Super Street features.  In Enduro, Justin Duckworth came home in second, with Brent Watson in third.

In the Super Street feature, Hale was followed to the line by Randy Woodard in second, while Ray Shipes came across in third.

James Pennington was first across the finish line to pick up the Mini Stock victory.  Banks Perdue was second, with Joe Wingard in third.

In Pro Challenge action, it was Joseph Pilanto scoring the win, with Joe Wilder in second and Dawson Gay third.

C.J. Pucko was the winner in the Legends feature.  Lisa Young finished second, with Phillip Young in third.

Katelyn Weatherly won in Bandoleros, with Justin Bridges in second.  Dylan Bailey scored the Go Karts win, followed to the line by Jamie Bailey and Doug Sanneman.
