Chase Elliott Scores World Crown 300 Pole At GMP

Dawsonville, Georgia’s Chase Elliott fired the first shot in the battle to win tonight’s World Crown 300 at Gresham Motorsports Park in Jefferson, GA.

The second generation racer scored the pole award for the 29th annual event with a lap at 16.609, 108.375 mph.  His blistering speed was matched only by the heat, with track temperatures reaching into triple digits.

Stephen Nasse, who had paced Tuesday practice, was second fastest with a 16.644, 108.147 mph.  T.J. Reaid, teammate to Elliott, was third fastest with a 16.663, 108.024 mph, was third, with Clay Alexander (16.703, 107.765 mph) fourth and NASCAR Sprint Cup driver David Ragan (16.704, 107.759) fifth.

Kenzie Ruston, who paced final practice, was sixth, followed by Kyle Benjamin, four time World Crown winner Paul Kelly, Eric Jones and Matt Tifft.
