While the late models have been in the spotlight so far during this Rheem World Crown weekend at Gresham Motorsports Park in Jefferson, Georgia, the hometown heroes are set to take center stage tonight, as the Sportsman division will be in action as part of Friday night’s festivities.
In Sportsman qualifying, John Mobley turned fast time with a 19.591, 91.879 mph. He and Jackie Daniel were the only two to take time, but several additional cars practiced and are expected to compete in tonight’s Sportsman feature, includng Brian Sosebee, Mark Caudell, Jody Cash and Jody Trivette.
Brian Sosebee topped the charts earlier in the day in the second Sportsman practice session with a 19.044, 94.518 mph. Mark Caudell paced the first session with a 19.231, 93.599 mph.
The Sportsman division will compete in a 20 lap feature tonight, along with the Mini-Cup division and the main event, the Rheem 75 truck feature. Events roll off at 7 pm with Super Late Model qualifying, followed by Truck qualifying and the feature events.
