The 28th annual Rheem World Crown 300 race weekend got off to a fast start Thursday evening, as competitors in both Sunday’s Super Late Model and Saturday’s Pro Late Model features took to the high banked half mile Gresham Motorsports Park in Jefferson, Georgia.

The Pro Late Model sessions saw a few incidents during the night, including a spin by Jerrod Foley in the first turn in session number one.  He made contact with the wall, but was able to drive back to the pits.  Teddy Musgrave opened session number two by spinning off of turn two.  He spun cleanly, and was able to continue.

Stacy Crain was not so lucky.  After spinning on the front stretch early in the third session and not making contact with the wall, Crain would later back heavily into the wall in the second turn, ending his night.  The car was taken back to the garage area by the wrecker.

Carter also spun in turn two late in the final PLM practice, but was able to drive away.

Action continues on Friday with day two of the World Crown weekend.  Grandstands and trackside parking opens at 10 am, with feature races scheduled for 7 pm.  Feature events on tap include the Rheem 75 truck event, the Mini-Cups and Sportsman events, along with an on-track driver autograph session.
